Quote from Dr_Misa: “You would use airforce to counter my stack. Strike fighters, helicopters, ECT. But I would counter that with ASF. A stack of 5 ASF level 2 or 3 in the early game can counter most airforces. ” Uh well, no. Most airforces, if they are serious, would have ASF escort of their own. And they would tend to outnumber your forces, which are not focused on anything. Also important that "ASF level 2 or 3" are very much not the same: a speed difference of 12 vs. 16 is crucial. Which is …

Quote from Dr_Misa: “I think armour is a HUGE waste of resources. ” This is indeed true. But the same goes for any melee units. So investing in a big infantry stack is also wasteful.

Quote from Dr_Misa: “Stack 8 motorized infantries, 1 infantry officer and 1 combat recon vehicle and nothing is going to stop that stack. [<===>] YOU MUST BUILD ASF! Like the name says, this will give you control over the skies, which is very important in CON. ” As KFG has already said, your first sentence is controversial, to put it mildly. (It is flat out false, to be blunt.) One of the many, many things that'd stop an infantry stack is a strong airforce. The second part of my quote is correct…

  • The last thread was not any good. This one is bound to be worse. Please stop, pretty please.

  • Quote from playbabe: “How did morale fall and population dont even growing ” Well he stated that a constant population is modeled. The morale should reach its target, however (with possibly a slight overshooting) - so the real question is why it went up so high, 4% above target, and then not come down immediately? This seems like an implementation error, as my formula does not do this in a spreadsheet.

  • Quote from KFGauss: “The Morale calculation is a little pessimistic (it tops out about 1 percentage-point below the max I saw in some real-game data I have) ” I think this is the consequence of the roundoff issue, rather than being pessimistic. The formula provides the average expectation value, based on the input given (which has +/-0.5 uncertainty in all its terms). So real results would come out either a bit above, or a bit below, but scatter around that mean level calculated.

  • Quote from KFGauss: “@Zozo001 Is the raw data you used to determine your morale-change formula still available? Would it be easy for you to give me a copy of that data? ” Not easy, but possible ;-(. I'll dig it up, one of these days...

  • Quote from ERehyDAErLA: “Yes, I am from Indiana. For you foreigners ” Being from Indiana, you are the foreigner. Your suggestions would not improve the game btw.

Quote from Telerik: “My point of writing here is to show is possible to fully ignore air+navy+arty units(saving days build+research+resource) ” ROTFLMAO this ignorance actually cost you a lot, rather than saving anything. Your units are woefully inefficient. Let us see, first of all, the base ATK generation rate (i.e. firepower available per day when using all resources produced at base rate). These are, against infantry, 6.5 ATK/day for MBT (which goes down to 4.9 ATK/day on urban terrain), 7.4…

Quote from Telerik: “Taking PPP into consideration... ” But real military power depends not on per-capita value, but on the gross size of economy. So this suggestion actually makes the game less realistic (besides turning a good wargame into a poor economic simulation).

Quote from WalterChang: “While I quite like the idea of including a game mode where the map more authentically represents real-world geography and populations [...] I'd prefer it if they simply chose starting values for the city-sizes that better represent the relative sizes of those cities in reality. ” No matter how you try to approach reality, that'd bring such huge unbalancing of countries' power that the game would be practically unplayable, for all but a couple players who happen to pick l…

Quote from V1nd1c4t0r: “ slight adjustment in stat ” There is, actually, a big difference in one stat, that is the damage distribution weight (much larger for NASF than others). But Dorado, in its supreme wisdom, made this one a hidden value, alas.

Quote from Telerik: “CON claims realistic maps ” No they do not, certainly in the sense your post suggests. The claim is for the map to be geographically correct, which is (mostly) true. Your "balancing" would actually ruin the game thoroughly, since only the top 3 (at most) countries would have realistic chance to dominate, very contrary to the CON way. In real life, GDP differences are so huge that approaching that in the game would make it practically unplayable. I.e. the 4th ranked country, …

Quote from V1nd1c4t0r: “... other than the ability to launch from AC ” But of course the AC carrier launch must have been the original intent. OFC the carrier strat is too expensive to be efficient, as you pointed out, so its is not really useful to utilize that way.

  • Quote from WalterChang: “I don't think it'll work well for Airborne Infantry. I haven't tried it, but I imagine the waypoints will cause them to fly away to the next destination before they've disembarked and captured the land. ” This is indeed the case. You've got to stop and wait until the end of disembarking, before the target gets occupied.

Quote from Telerik: “If new players listen to Telerik they will have x10 chance of solo victory . ” LOL no, this is a bogus stat (as you probably know better yourself). And also: getting solo win is a sign itself that there was likely no serious competition. Hint: I very rarely join a game to pursue solo victory.

    Quote from KFGauss: “Are the MARKET Resource amounts and prices initially available in a game like a 1X WW3 game the same at the start of every game, or are they randomized by some amount(s)? ” I think there is a slight random variation, but I'd have to dig up specific numbers for it. EDIT I have found my old stats taken over 3 games (not sure what type, sorry): * * Supplies * * Components * * RareM * * Fuel * * Electronics * Total * 3 146 * * 2 976 * * 2 148 * * 1 618 * * 2 145 * * * * * * * * …

Quote from Telerik: “You forget about air ,navy and arty ,you stay on the ground as all victory points you need are on the ground . ” Like so many recent suggestions, this depends on the underlying assumption of not meeting serious opposition. Sure you can win this way against weak enemies. But most other possibilities are just as good in that circumstance, and this one fails spectacularly against decent players (as AoT has already pointed out).
