In my experience (including attempting to specify/implement something similar), these always work better in your head than in practice. Why? - Because of the actual complexity involved in identifying all of the game state variables that will need to be used in the conditional equations, and the size of the equations that will need to be evaluated In theory I'm a fan, but . . . before asking Dorado to give this truly serious consideration, I recommend - Enumerating all of the state variables that…

AI is too strong
PostSurely you jest. Are you really saying the AI is hard to sweep out of your way, or saying that too many players drop out (and their leftovers become AI)? If you really think the AI is hard to beat, use Google to search this forum site and you'll find a zillion suggestions for creating troops that can easily defeat the AI units.

An update from Today's game-day: The Insurgents spawned while I was sleeping (again). After 6 to 9 hours I'm guessing that roughly 1/3rd of them left their cities to attack surrounding provinces (and accidentally bump into 1 or 2 of my units). So . . . They don't appear to be waiting for reinforcements. More stayed put (during this first movement period) than moved. They appear to have (very rough guess) a 1 in 3 chance of leaving their starting city. They might be going on the move earlier than…

Google is (sort of) your friend for these sorts of questions. "Googling" this forum site using the keywords you expect to see connected to this topic turns up a decent number of threads that ask the same, or nearly the same question. However, when I did my searching through those threads I didn't find an answer that told us how to attack strengths is converted into population losses, or how population losses are converted into Civ Casualties. My recent question about Civ Casualties didn't get an…

OK - I'm going to put this on the back burner for a little while, but not forget it. I'll try to do the experiments in the period between when my ally and I both surpass 2500 Season Points and when we decide to close out the game by passing the VP threshold. I'm thinking that we'll both pass our SP thresholds in less than 10 real-world days. The first thing I need to do (today) is give that ally a heads-up about me wanting to screw around a little before we end the game.

New 10x games?
PostQuote from Mih0: “Now that I have played and won such a game (with Saudi Arabia), I wouldn't give up anything and I wouldn't cover my home country with SAMs or any other army for that matter. I would make a ship for each city to guard the coastline (e.g 7-8 corvettes or Frigates) which is enough to stop most rush attacks overnight (if you consistently seek out to kill your main opponents nearby). . . . ” OK Thanks - That sounds like a player with enough planes might be able to land a good punch …

Quote from Zozo001: “Quote from KFGauss: “My hunch is that the process that decides whether insurgents will expand isn't tied to the process that creates/spawns additional insurgents in a city . ” I suspect the opposite is true, although I have not made careful enough observations to make this 100% sure. But it appeared that rogue expansion always happened when a lot of extra spawning occurred. Plus the rogue occupied cities always seem to retain their garrison until a 2nd spawning. ” Well . . .…

Sometimes they go on the move within a few hours of arriving. This happened once recently in a BG USA that has many cities revolting each game-day. However most days they all get killed before they start moving. My hunch is that the process that decides whether insurgents will expand isn't tied to the process that creates/spawns additional insurgents in a city .

Quote from dannyboy11: “Sorry, forgot to mention that I already have 2 ASF, so i suppose that would mean don’t invest in 1 more ASF? And I assume the configuration of each stack would be 1 ASF, 2 SF & 2 NSF? Thanks for the help, really appreciate it ” Correct - You'll enjoy mowing the opposition down like wheat. PS: If you want to splurge a little, a decent radar or two accompanying your cheap National Guards will help avoid stumbling into hornets' nests as you empty and gobble up the territory …

Quote from dannyboy11: “Thanks for the advice, I came to the same conclusion with hospitals. I have two SF’s at the moment that I rotate back to my capital city to heal up using the level 3 hospital I have there. In terms of SAMs, I’m in a noob lobby (myself included), so I doubt that will be an issue lol. I think I’ll probably just invest in another SF to deal with him. ” If you have 2 SF now, invest in 4 NSF, 1 more ASF, and 2 more SF, and then fly them in two stacks of 1 + 2 + 2. You'll be fa…

Quote from dannyboy11: “I’m at day 10. I have two SF’s, but I’d like some more units to directly counter as it’s seems like he has a lot of combat recon vehicles. So I’ll probably research attack chopper. ” Attack Choppers are obviously good against Hard targets, including CRVs. However, Africa is a big place. Compared to planes, Attack Choppers require more air bases (air bases that you construct slowly using resources you'd probably prefer to invest in something else), and choppers don't fly a…

PostQuote from KFGauss: “Quote from KFGauss: “If I'm able to use my usual methods, . . . ” Quote from Mih0: “Well yeah, however if I leave 4-5 SAM launchers to cover my bases all of your planes will be shot down and you will have to find an alternative way of attacking them. . . . ” . . . SO . . . What I'm trying to wrap my head around is this: If I were to meet an atypical opponent like you (in a 10X game) would you really be likely to have 4-5 SAMs parked in each of your home cities, and if you di…

PostQuote from Tom_Cruise: “Can't seem to find any threads from the players that actually experienced this speed and what strategies they adopted? ” Yeah - I don't recall anyone starting a "here's what happened thread". Maybe one of the players' caffeine/cocaine/meth overdose-recovery-therapy will include writing a description

In my last game by day 23 I had around 45-50 cities, 3 SAM, 3 Anti air, 5 artillery, 5 bombers, 2 radars, lots of national guard…

Elite MBT
PostQuote from Zozo001: “Quote from KFGauss: “However, if I was a browser-only player ” Look again. The main seasons tab (likely the very same screen on which you saw"... completed this season's challenge!") shows the leaderboard, with your score. ” Well, what do you know - My mistake. My eye was never drawn to that crowded line at at view's bottom. It's a view that (when un-studied) appears to be simply showing me top 10 players (boring). Being totally uninterested in those top 10 scores probably c…

PostQuote from KFGauss: “Dorado/Volunteers, I have an SC membership, and I intend to earn 2500 Season Points during this season so that I can unlock the EMBT permanently. So far I have earned a little over 1500 points. Now when I use my browser to check how many points I have (to find out if I have earned 2500), my current points total isn't displayed. Instead what I see is a message telling me that I have "... completed this season's challenge!". What method can I use to determine when/whether I ha…

PostQuote from Mih0: “Well yeah, however if I leave 4-5 SAM launchers to cover my bases all of your planes will be shot down and you will have to find an alternative way of attacking them. E.g artillery or direct attack, which will be slower and also has weaknesses. If you are talking late game, then you will be too far from my homeland to make such a strike unless you come with ships. I used to play with a lot with helicopters ,however in the last couple of games I stopped using the dominant air st…

New 10x games?
PostQuote from Mih0: “Well I think it will be more dynamic and would need to adjust strategies significantly, one I can think of is having to keep a back up force at home just in case someone tried to rush you at night. However if you start in the morning, before you go to sleep it’s day 4 and should be able to secure your borders. My only concern is unit production, however I guess this incentivises us to get a security council and stop being freeloaders (for the people who want to play it of cours…
