Meaning: Carriers are meant to be a forward airport. by definition, you don't have airports in range, if you use carriers. PostA word of practical, operational feedback. I'm France. I'm attacking Belarus. I do that through Germany and Poland. I do that with a fair amount of air assets. I attack from Warsaw, which has a lvl 1 airport. The closest airport after that is Stockholm. Belarus sends its bombers to Warsaw, i don't intercept them in time, i lose 12 choppers and 3 drones. Planes, having a longer range, manage to survive through Stockholm. Mixed stacks lose their choppers, planes survive. Fine, my fault, i knew abo…

PostWait, so how did this happen? Before, when the airport was destroyed planes became trucks. Now, it no longer happens - they move if they can, otherwise they crash. So, how did these planes become trucks, even though the airport is untouched? i presume they crapped in their pants and decided driving was safer than fighting?

While pissed (just in case it wasn't clear in the 5 posts i made on the same topic), i kept using it - because in spite of all the bugs having a carrier-like capacity and range is cool. so i'm in an apoc map, and have a dilemma on hospital location vs air defenses. I always build my hospital in my capital. But there's where i also need to put the primary anti-air and missile defenses. My concern is that the hospital tends to be overcrowded (i play NG, so there's often 10+ units in there for pre-deployment healing), and i fear that stacking all of those units needing healing with my anti-air and missile defenses would reduce their effectiveness. next update: moving the ships within range triggered the plane attack. So the plane attacked, and the ships responded - still in defense, not in attack (never saw the shooting animation). At least that's my interpretation of this: ships are damaged, so the strikers attacked the ships, and they defended. No animation, no AA attack notification.

thanks - to test that, i've done that and more: i told a ship to attack a city, like 'guys, you're at war'. the graphics and the tooltip say that we attacked the city (picture one, tooltip says that the ship is reloading). At the same time, it didn't attack (notification screen does not show that we attacked the city). My experience so far: - fighting ship to ship, works as intended - shooting planes, not - shooting cities, not p.s. plane is gone for now, will see if he comes back
