Never really used spies against AI, not much point in doing it from the start

If the spies are caught, probably. But if not, they wouldn't know about them, so why would they declare war?

AI is all knowing, they can attack units they have never seen before but about which they still know

In that case, it doesn't matter if they declare war on you, does it?

Just go for it. Intel spies are bloody useful, especially if you have cash to burn. Or if you put 3 sabotage spies in the same region, you've got a decent chance of getting a full reveal on all their units.

Who cares if the AI declares war on you? You're going to kill them anyway, right?

The day change in this particular game is just before I go to bed. If I launch spies and the AI declares war on me. I will not be able to actively manage the war while I am a sleep.

I also wanted to ask to see if anyone would know, so I can plan appropriately.

Quality intel is key.

Update:

So I said phluck it. Sent several agents on sabotage missions to wreak havoc on my peaceful AI neighbor.

The clock struck 24hrs and he did nothing.

I would que The Beastie Boys song Sabotage here below.

However the song posted below is way better and so so much more funky

It can take days for the AI react, the question is, does your popularity with the specific AI suffer

Many of my units are in a better position now & other units are almost healed up at an ally's lvl 5 hospital far away from the action which will be flown in soon.
