      i am on my first game. i am nowhere near where you are and i am on day 12! i realized quickly while playing that i made some crucial errors like building airfields instead of air bases and not managing my resources better. i started in nicaragua and had an active player who was coming south towards me in yukatan. had to rest for 3 days afterwards. i am grateful for that because i realized i like the attack strategy from the beginning and not be a sitting duck while building my economy not knowing if i am going to be attacked or not without any defenses(and not even fully knowing what i could do to defend yet). i like the idea of getting more resources from the start and outplaying an opponant and limiting his/her resources at the same time. i want to come back to your stats before i play my 2nd game and see how i can incorporate a better strategy than my first game

      so far this is what i have

      DAY 12(uggg it's been a grind. got little sleep with these active players) - playing solo and no current coalitions in the game with more than 1 player although i ran in to a double team in mexico

      21 cities
      205 provinces
      300vp
      71% morale
      24 units(lost a few in battle)
      my territory stretches from panama to mexico
      have to rest 2 more days for full health

      2 l3 army bases (near my capitol....i need to start building more local i think)

      1 l1 air superiority fighter (who the hell knew this dude took damage from a attack?!?). i had to heal this bitch as he was down to 5hp and i didn't realize it

      4 mobile artillery l1

      i am researching main battle tank right now and want to get 8 which is going to take a while since i only have 2 l3 bases(and stack more infantry at the same time). research is going to be done today and can start building my first two. getting them in to mexico is going to be a bitch. i want to think about annexing a city in mexico and moving my capitol and build off it

      when i get more supplies, i want to research and build some planes. maybe i can do that in mexico after i annex i also want to level up my 5 recruiting stations in homeland

      my problem is i am low on supplies but i know i am in good shape because with all the provinces i took over early, i was able to make more money to buy out all the supplies in the market (2k+) thankfully, i don't need that much more stuff that requires supplies and i can focus more now on the stuff that uses the other resources that i now have a shit ton of(planes and more tanks)

      from day 1-7 i was researching my ass off in this forum while i was waiting to be approved for an account and reddit which was helpful but not as much

      my biggest hurdle in the game so far has been how to heal effectively. i still don't know if i am doing it right. i am stacking my motorized infantry at 1 hospital and stacking my combat recons at another hospital. i still haven't figured out how planes heal. if it's the same as regular units or if it's 1 unity a day at an airfield or air base. not quite sure of that either and not much info on that for planes

      Better with 1 central hospital lvl 5 than 5 seperate lvl 1. if lvl 5 hosp get 6 hp per day per unit.

      example: if have 5 units (1 in each city) will heal combined 10 hp per day. park same units all in a lvl 5 hosp. get 5 x 6 hp heal and 30 hp heal versus 10 hp.

      I mainly use to to heal planes. so put lvl 5 hp in central airbase city and fly all dinged units back.

      you will also soon realize recon veh useless after day 10. Build arm fighting vehicles.

      thanks. yea man, i realize about the hospitals too late along with my other buildings. i wish to god i could do a do over earlier on in the game after i realized i was wasting resources

      although i tried to do my best in researching everything i could build, i had decided to go with the one i had already researched in my first game through the little starting tutorial. now i see that those fighting vehicles are probably more my cup of tea and i also wouldn't have to build the tanks. since they use components rather than supplies, i will be less likely to run out of supplies and focus more on planes earlier on in the game. i am DEFINATELY going to utilize that strategy in my next game and see how it goes while my resources will be more evenly balanced. i am CONSTANTLY out of supplies right now. it sucks!

      with air bases, do they heal a plane by 1 point for each level air base? i couldn't find any info on this.

      yes you get 1 hp for city plus 1 hp for every hosp level.

      you seem to being doing well for new player and asking right questions. key is find what works for you but dont research 20 things. better a narrow / deep research.

      Strike fighters better than air supp. especially like me you are offense minded. Air supp defensive / strike fighters offensive. and stack up to 5 fighters. the damage taken is per attack. like if enemy has 1 hp air defense. 5 separate planes will get 5 x 1 hp damage = 5 hp damage. where as a 5 plane stack does same damage to enemy but only takes 1 hp damage.

      btw- i just realized why i chose to go with recon. in this first game, i did a lot of offensive. i was actually forced in to it in the beginning of the game and stuck with that strategy. what happened is i killed off some units and were hurting for supplies.

      so i was trying to think strategy under my circumstances and decided to go with more recon combined with mobile artillery to reduce my damage. i also liked the fact of the sight range and knowing what someone has before we get up close and personal. so i had to compensate and build the recon and now with the battle tanks. i think this may be a bad strategy because of resource management and having more than 1 thing in a category using up more supplies for research than i need to. but i really really LOVE that sight range! :)
    • Well you need a airbase to get to city and hospital. but yes a city with airbase and no hosp will heal 1 hp / day. Any unit in any city will heal 1 hp/unit/day.

      the airbase in itself doesn't heal its the city plus any hospital.

      So typically your capital starts with AB1; use that as central airbase and advanced lvl hospital. later in game too hard to keep recharging ground troops as could take days to get back.

      But Air stacks (I prefer 1 Air supp / 4 Strike). For some glitch the Air supp absorbs all damage. Once air supp like 50 pct health return to hosp to recharge and swap in a new / fresh air supp. That way I don't lose planes and keep stack near 100 pct health. If run into anti air and strikes get damaged watch pct health. 4 planes; if get below 75 pct health will lose 1. so at around 80 pct same thing fly 1 or 2 home to heal and swap in new SF. The new / fresh SF spreads health to other 2 planes. Early on I didn't understand this and would bang planes tll they died, but too valuable and relatively quick to fly home and recharge. If no immediate threat will fly a lot back to recharge. send 10 planes to a airbase with 5hp health restore per day like getting 2 "free planes" rebuilt.

      Strategy:
      to build units ASAP (Long term usually go frigs (plus officer) / SF / NG or Inf (just because 12 free). But early can play same with a few ASF and Corvettes (poor mans AF and Navy but key is to out arm opponent at point in game. Rising tides may throw in Marines / Amph Fight veh later.

      1. Research NG (30 min) / Build Rec off in every city (30 min)
      2. Research Corvette (30 min) - could have waited as will be 18 hrs before Navy 2 / arms Ind built
      3. Research ASF (30 min) - will be poor mans strike fighters as cant unlock SF till day 3.
      4. Upon completion of rec offices - Mobilize a NG in every city (8ish hr mob)/ start arms ind in every city (9 hrs). When Arms Ind complete build Navy in a 2 or 3 countries. Can begin produce 2 - 3 vettes 18 hrs. vettes can weaken early opponents than serve to protect ports later.

      Sending 1 inf from darwin to East Antarctica / 1 inf from Windorow (2 least likely cities to be attacked and closest). Easy / free VPs and 1 small city that will take a while. Cash and man power will help.

      Moving East Aust troops (will backfill with ngs) towards NE Aust to prepare for New Guinea (near Victory site).

      Bought up all Cheap resources before gone.
