Some naval units have reduced or increased power in coastal areas. These are marked with a "wave" symbol. But what exactly is the delineation between Coastal and High Seas? Is a unit in "Coastal" only when it's directly on the symbol? Nearby? Halfway to the next area? It's not clear.

Turn on terrain view (click "show settings" in bottom right then click the mountain that says "Toggle Terrain Types"). The coast is a lighter blue and generally near large landmasses and the high seas is darker blue.

Yes, I see the paths of course. Where paths cross, there are sometimes a wave icon. That's a coastal area. The question is, how far from the wave symbol does the "Coast" rules apply? What if a battle takes place between a coast junction and an ocean junction? Which rules apply?

I was talking to the other person who answered, not you. Hadn't refreshed the page. I see it now using terrain, many thanks, that's exactly what I needed. My subs and corvettes will be happier now
