    • I think all the countries should be each give a list of leaders. The list of leaders would have six leaders and one of those leaders would one of the six ideologies listed here.

      - Nationalism Route: Nationalist Route Leaders focus on domestic and defense tasks as a way to defend the country from conquering nations or rogues and preserve the national and cultural identity of the nation they are leading. Positives of the Nationalism Route are that money is only spent on military units needed to defend the country, domestic affairs and boosting morale within the homeland. However the negatives of the Nationalist Route are having to conquer and wage war on countries who attack your country as a way to appease the population of the cities within your nation.

      - Liberalism Route: Liberalism Route Leaders focus on domestic production, foreign affairs and the appeasing of civilians in cities in order to reform and progress as a strong nation. Positives of the Liberalism Route are that money is spent on domestic production. However the negatives of the Liberalism Route are that leaders of the Liberalism path tend to focus too much on joining alliances and contributing to those alliances and spending all of the nation's money to find and strengthen the alliance their nation is part of, even if it makes their nation bankrupt.

      - Colonialism Route: Colonialism Route Leaders focus on conquering other nations and annexing them in order to gain and exploit their resources. The Positive of the Colonialism Route is that you can conquer other nations to exploit their resources which will make domestic production in your country easy and quick. However the negatives of the Colonialism route are that you are constantly spending your money on military units which will make your nation bankrupt and unable to defend itself from invaders and the constant spending of money to boost the morale of the populace within your newly conquered territory in order to prevent them from becoming a rogue state.

      - Theocracy Route: Theocracy Route Leaders focus on conquering nations that do not have the same religion as the nation they rule or they do not conquer at all and act as peacemakers. The Positives of the Theocratic Route are that Theocratic leaders tend to focus on domestic production, the boosting of morale of the populace and the fact they are usually the peacemakers of the alliances their nation is a part of. However the negative of the Theocratic Route is that Theocratic leaders do not focus on domestic production and research.

      - Monarchist Route: Monarchist Route Leaders focus on the boosting of morale of people within the cities, domestic production and producing military units to defend the nation they rule. The Positives of the Monarchist Route are that Monarchist Route Leaders are monarchs that tend to be strong leaders that focus on domestic production, the production and research of military units. However the negatives of the Monarchist Route are that you have to constantly spend money to boost the morale of the people, you can't conquer other nations unless they attack you and negotiations fail and you can only join alliances that only have countries that are also on the Monarchist Route.

      - Communist Route: Communist Route Leaders focus on rapid spending on military and domestic production. The Positive of the Communist Route is that Countries with Communist leaders are able to join alliances that consist of countries that are also on the communist route. The negatives of the communist route are that you have to focus on spending all of your money on domestic production and boosting the morale of your nation in order to prevent rebellions against you.

The leader's job is to be your boss and advisor as a way to make sure you are successful in guiding the country down the route they represent.

      >constantly spending money on the military
      >unable to defend
decide, cuz constant military spending seems to me like a thing that should actually make your army stronger and not weaker

Well, if legacy code was the issue, then the game would never have updates, since everything in the game is 'legacy code'.
You do realize that there is quite a difference between updating/changing already existing stuff and adding completely new mechanics?
