Having a gameplay option in which you cant buy anything with gold, but instead buy a 1k - 5k buy in to be able to participate?

Hey,

me and 3 friends just startet playing the game and we really enjoy it. But we obv dont enjoy it very much if some "pay to win" dude just pays 50€ repairs all his troops etc and kills all of us alone.
So we where wondering if it would be possible to have a gameplay mode in which u cant buy anything with gold, but have to pay gold as a buy in to the game in order to be able to participate.

Because we would totally do that,

I have suggest this numerous times. then could payout top x positions with buy in pot.

This would increase people staying active. If anyone has played online poker; free games people dont play right and go all in on junk; where if even a $1 - 5 buy in they play like normal bad players

exactly, you can adjust the buy in. make it 10k, what ever it needs to be, to be "profitable". but it would be _THE_ solution for a fair game.

This is a great idea and would be welcomed by many. They say private games were taken away because it created an isolated community, yet CoN feels absolutely isolated with how it currently is.
Gold is already used in about every aspect of the game as optional. Why it's not optional to pay gold for a private game ,makes no sense.

I suspect they are trying to corral every active player into dead public lobbies, in effort to save dead public lobbies. But there are so many other more effective ways to do this, I hope it is on the to-do list somewhere.

Well, it has not to be private, right?
Just host a game, as usual (i dont actually know how games are created in this game, automatically?). So create one additional set of games thats called "World War 3 buy in xxxx" where xxxx is the number of gold you need. Or make it so that only premium players can join such games or make it both, premium and buy in with gold.

Heck, i just want to have a fair game

It's pointless, when Dorado already said they wouldn't do anything that messed with their business model (people can buy and use gold)

Heck Netflix used to ship DVDs...lol they evolved.

Imagine if Amazon was still just selling books.

Sears had a great business model with Catalogs

Well I didn't say no business changed their business model only no business has been bullied to change their business model. They only change it when it is hurting their bottom line.

Well, if the bottom line is the issue, then how about this?
1. Find the average amount of gold spent on a game.
2. Charge that amount (plus five percent bonus charge) to host a game where no additional gold is allowed.

See, not only does it not hurt the bottom line, it actually helps it (thanks to the surcharge).

you are leaving out the part that explains it ... private games where they can't buy or use gold.

But surely it would be an easier sell to Dorado if we only petitioned for private paid for games no?

I think hoping for private games that are free is just never gonna happen, but when it's a paid only option, that doesn't make sense why they wouldn't want that extra revenue. I would rather pay gold for private games than buy gold for anything else.

I do not know if the developers have considered charging enough gold for each player buy in to offset the loss of gold buys otherwise.

no because they are stubborn. rather spin up games in hopes 1 guy buys a ton of gold and other 60 - 100 players quit
