    • It's because you try to tie the visuals too much to reality

      A single strike fighter would obliterate a single IFV. it's the expectable result, and no one doubts that in real life, a single IFV would be generally speaking toast to a strike fighter.


      However, in Conflict of Nations, units and fights must be understood through abstract thinking.


      In T1,

      a strike fighter costs 950 components, 900 electronics, and 3 000 $


      a AFV (or IFV) costs 1 600 components, 600 electronics, and 1 625 $


      So... a full wing of strike fighters would cost 4,75 k comps, 4,5k elec, and 15k $

      A group of 8 IFV would cost 8k components, 4,8k elec, and 8,125k $

      You can see how the group of 8 AFV is considerably more expensive than the 5 strike fighters, and that on a unit per unit comparison, producing an IFV isn't spectacularly cheaper than a Strike Fighter, depending on if your economy has a better output of comp or elec.

      Now, let's put in actual fighting those two, in T1 again.

      Let's assume that the AFV have everything going for them ---> they are in forest with a +25%, and they are entrenched, which gives them 25% reduction on incoming damage.

      The group will deal 10 damage in defense against strike fighters, while having a total of 216 hp.

      The strike fighter, them, will have 100 HP (or 125 if you play the Europeans) , and dealing 18.75 hard damage.

      (Let's remember this situation is one where the AFV are in defense and static, in a beneficial terrain)

      So yeah... While the strike fighters deal more damages, the rate of attrition will go awfully against you, even if at the "overall resource investment", you deal more damage than your opponent, for the same amount of resources invested.

      Hence, if you order your brave pilots to pound this group endlessly, Attrition will be on the entrenched stack. Slowly but surely, the operational power of your wing will decrease until your lose.

      However, it's not how one is supposed to play strike fighters, in extenso, with hospitals, and the ludicrously high healing rate.

      1°) Launch an attack with the wing, deal 18.75 damages.
      2°) Separate the fifth strike fighter from the wing, that is now mid life.
      3°) Launch an attack with the (4 planes) wing, deal 15 damages. Observe as you killed one IFV, leaving another lightly damaged
      4°) Separate the fourth strike fighter from the wing, that is now mid life.
      5°) Launch an attack with the (3 planes) wing, deal 11,25 damages. Observe as you either killed another IFV, reducing their group to 6, or left the 7th of their group close to death.
      6°) Put those planes to rest in a hospital. A mid-life (10 hp over 20) plane convert into a 6/12 hp object on the ground, meaning that on a full wing of planes is reduced 76 hp on 100, the wing has roughly 15 hp to heal on the ground. If you have, say, an hospital lvl 2 that heals 3 hp per day per unit, the whole wing will be fully repaired in 24 hours.
      7°) Rince and Repeat, and enjoy cost free attrition, as airplanes are highly mobile, heal quicker.


      Let's again remember that we are talking of a case where the IFV are in a VERY favourable defensive position. Put them on the move, in plains or mountains, and after the first "cycle charge", the strike fighters would have killed 4 IFV of the group of 8, before you need to heal.

      Pro tip : reserve strike fighters (or helicopters) in base are here to increase the rotation cycle and allowing full wings to continue to operate while the "used" ones are repaired.

      and yes time namagement and time to play is crucial for used aiplane if have less time try swap first on slow mode map or slower plane like bomber ..



      and yes if you have 5 minute per day for game or 2 -3 max 5 minute forget to used fleet like main weapon .. mostly forget to be who pass fight without loose so yes if you be like da it for you much more better simply used ground force ( and know it that somebody who have more time to play simplůy evry time beat you by fleet and that is true . too ..


      so problems isnt how much unit have statts but hoiw you are use taht unit ( and how you care that this unit simply dont die by your stupidity ... )
