I went through a phase where I would build military logistics between my cities early in the game: I wanted to be able to quickly respond to threats and consolidate forces when and where I needed them. I figured it was a particularly good idea in mountainous areas.
But, over time, I've realized that the cost doesn't make up for the benefits. The increase in ground speed from A to B isn't enough to save the day. And, it doesn't work over very long distances as well as, say, an airstrip.
Now, the only time I build them is after a win has been locked up, and then only because it looks cool, and I have more resources than I could possibly use by that point in the game.
I think there's a small benefit to resources, but is there any reason they are beneficial that I'm missing?
