Silly wars on the map need to be removed.
Nah. Silly war is one of the (arguably) best features of CoN. I mean bro it is still war!And 3. what if the player still has units?
A nation with troops and no capital, is a body without a head.
No head = no control = No ability to declare war on a new enemy.
      OBJECTION!

Roaches can survive without there head for about 3 weeks

During the American Revolution we didn't have a capital, Philadelphia was only a place reps talked. Only thing you is a leader and a commander and chief.

Each revolting North American colony most definitely had a colony.

After Great Britain recognized those 13 colonies' independence they decided to form a confederation that loosely united them.
    • We're talking about the capital, they didn't have a capital at the time, only a military leader. (George Washighton)

Not the best choice to compare with. 13 colonies in one shot break away from their parent UK to form a country. Weapon were on the primitive side in 1776. No machine guns, no tanks, no jet plans, no trucks.

Try again with a modern example.

Nazi Germany took Paris on June 14, 1940. Three days later France surrenders to Germany.

Nazi Germany took Warsaw on September 27, 1939. Poland was done by October 6, 1939.

Nazi Germany invades Netherlands and country folds like a house of cards within 5 days. (May 1940)

Nazi Germany invades Belgium and country folds like a house of cards within 18 days (May 1940)

Troops in these countries low on supplies, low on morale surrendered to Nazi Germany.
    • It's weird how he uses Nazi Germany as a example. There is many other battles that a country had no capital and kept fighting.

      Somebody needs a history lesson.

Troops in these countries low on supplies, low on morale surrendered to Nazi Germany.
Those examples are just examples of "the Blitz". Germany had advanced as fast as it did after taking the capitals. And I cant relate the last 2 examples, except them also being victims of the Blitz

    • And after the blitz, didn't Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa - not sharing a border with Germany - join the allies and declare war on Germany.
Sounds a lot like what the AI is doing :)

some did, but a lot escaped to allied controlled areas and bid their time. Governments included.

Yes examples of modern warfare. You can't compare modern warfare to warfare in "ancient times",

The speed at which a nation can fold.

Warfare with sailboats vs boat powered with oil or nuclear. (Modern vs ancient)

Relatively speaking even the USA civil war is ancient compared to the basket of weapons available in the CON game.

Think (Harry Turtledove the alternative author wrote about) if the south had modern machine guns in reasonable numbers and fully supplied. They would have won the American Civil War. They would have easily taken Washington DC. With Washington DC in Confederate hands, France and England would have fully recognized the Confederate states and the Northern USA would have had no choice but to sue for peace. European ships would step in and bust the Northern shipping blockage and started trading with the Confederate states again.

Germany only lost WW2 because they were stupid to invade Russia.

If Germany had stayed "allied" or Neutral with Russia, the British Empire would have folded.

Russia would have taken Iran and possibly split India with Japan.

China carved up by Japan and Russia?

Look what Rommel did with a handful of troops. He almost took Egypt. Imagine if he had a sizable army instead.

Maybe Russia/Japan takes Alaska and invade Canada.

Egypt, the middle east would have been in Axis hands.

Malta and Gibraltar in Axis hands.

The Med Sea, an Axis lake.

No Burma road to supply China.

      The UK sues for peace.

      USA stays on the sidelines?

Nope, Stalin had plans to invade Germany by 1941 if Hitler had pushed for an invasion of UK even harder. The reason the Axis lost is Pearl Harbor.

    • Russia and Germany split Poland. Very easy for them to split the middle east.

Russia so much wanted a warm port and Iran (Persia) would have done the trick. Also parts of India would have sweetened that pot.

Russia taking more buffer territories would be a no brainer for Stalin.

Stalin and Hitler would one day have war with each other but 1941 was 1-2 years too early for the Soviet Union to pull that trigger.

Look at the beating the Soviet army took taking a piece of Finland in 1939. Stalin knew he was not ready in 1941.

But guess what 1776 isnt ancient times, I'll understand if I said The Roman Republic vs Carthage. The only big difference about 1776 and WW1 is that in WW1 they had toxic gas.

    • A military can run without a capital.

Mondern example: When we left Afghanistan in 2021, Isis K had no capital anywhere in that country they only had a leader (and the poor mangement of the U.S) It had a leader weapons they took over Afghanistan when we were leaving. They had influence over the region and better strategy from the Afghans that they took over Afghanistan.

This shows that you don't need a capital to win a war, you just need a good leader and great military strategies.

      Periodt, your done, your done...
