      Yes as anyone knows, people tried to push out new doctrine every month or so, and you can also look at the pinned thread in suggestions on various doctrines’ suggestions.

      Now let get things in the perspective, why new doctrine is expensive and troubling.

      1. How each unit work in this game is each of them in each doctrine is one whole unit. aka, they can’t slap custom textures in the unit without making it a new unit.

      2. the 3 main doctrine already covered everything, just read the title of those pinned doctrine suggestions. it either a variant of old doctrine of one country specified doctrine

      3. not compatible with old map, if there is a new whole doctrine, it mean dev need to update every map.

      4. balance hell, since the current 3 doctrine is already have all the unit be different from each other (except naval lmao)

      Now what is sub-doctrine and why it is a best approach?
      The idea is almost the same, a few unique unit, each to a few countries. but not a whole new branch.

      Example: Japan, thailand and other asia western doctrines will be “western doctrines: carrier specialization” or some fancy name. they will have everything exactly same as western doctrines but carrier upgrades are unlocked a lot faster with unique textured.

      1. only need one or two unit for each sub-doctrines, or best if dorado are willing to invest into custom sprite features that doesn’t demand a different unit to be created to make it appear different.

      2. Sub doctrines can be applied to several countries with the same main doctrines.

      3. is partially compatible with old map, dev doesn’t have to immediately update all map. less so then a whole new doctrine.

      4. doesn’t demand big balances change

      But this feature is the most likely to turned into something like regional doctrine, since groups of countries in certain place will have almost identical problems and their unique doctrine to solve the problem. What’s your thoughts?

    • I would enjoy this "tweak" if the Devs looked at country-selection stats to find out which regions are undesirable, or that perform poorly during mid-game or late-game, and then the Devs gave those regions modest advantages to add balance (even those item 4 above says "balance hell" ;) )

      Maybe South and North America (and Russia?) need a little Sub-Doctrine adjustment to boost their mid-/late-game success rates?

      Meh, OK idea, except for highlighted in red. Thailand with a carrier specialization? Absurd. USA with the largest carrier fleet in the world by a huge margin NOT being a carrier specialization, doubly absurd.
