      Ok,
Probably nobody wants this other than me.

I think I would actually like a game (maybe optional map setting) that keeps resources in the location /city where they're produced. Then if you want to use them for production in another city you need to send them by transport (truck or boat or plane). This would almost make the game into more of a logistics transport tycoon,
      - infantry would require supply-depot,
      - vehicles would require fuel-depot.

We would need to build trucks and transport boats, (transport boats and planes wouldn't just appear out of nowhere to move units) though I'm thinking they'd operate mostly automatically (to supply the designated depot or requested construction, unit movement, etc). Capturing enemy transport or depot would be an interesting dynamic, transport ships could be manually grouped into convoys with escorts.

In the market you would see resources on offer from other specific cities (with price), you would send your transport to do the trade.

      Open to feedback from anyone
(except KFGauss go Google yourself :) )

i think it will be great
    • I so don't want this, that I would rather see planes having to refuel. ;)

Seriously, there is this game franchise called "Civilization". You should pick up a copy, it sounds like that is the game you want to play.

Excellent suggestion (I've already thought about it) although I would add some small changes.

1)I think a big flaw of the game is that we can produce an almost unlimited amount of units.

That is why certain restrictions should be introduced: each city can supply exactly as many units as it has a population.
In order for a city to supply a certain unit, it must be connected to it by land/sea within a distance of a maximum of one day's journey (or road). In case you have more units than supply capability, n units (n = city population) will still function normally, while the excess will lose hp (exactly like rush). The units that lose hp are the ones furthest away from the city (sea/land).

Units that do not need supplies are: marines and amphibious combat vehicles whose role will increase significantly due to the change, especially in overseas invasions while there is still no land stronghold under the control of the attackers.

Thus, we would introduce more realism into the game, but also increase the importance of roads, as well as frontal warfare instead of crazy capital rush or doomsday stacking.

      2) When we produce a resource in a certain city, it would be stored in a special building, from which it could only be moved by a certain unit - the resource transporter.

The transporter would have the speed of motorized infantry, and it could be researched. We would use a transporter to transport resources to the city where we want to mobilize the unit, which means that mobilization/construction is not possible until the convoys with all the necessary resources arrive in the city.
    • I Will use this thread because it is speaking about resources.

I was thinking about give each province a resources value, so, it will be more attractive (and necessary) to conquer land.

We can lower the city resource production to half and another half divide in homeland provinces. If they are captured, it would follow the same rules as cities: 25% of production. To compensate the un balance, annexed cities could produce 75% instead of 50%.

The bonus resource will be there as a "rich" province where the industry would build, but not in regular ones
