I'm hoping that Discord can be configured to include ~~BOTH a farm in the country where the idiot kids and failure-to-launch adults can spout nonsense and insult each other, AND~~ a Server/Channel/Whatever for the mature kids and adults.

~~I'm aware that much of any online freemium game's business model includes pandering to the idiots, incels, keyboard warriors, failures-to-launch, and trolls, especially if they have a credit card.~~

I'm hoping that the business model is big enough to ~~ALSO~~ include some "space" that doesn't remind users of either a bar/pub with a sticky floor or the back of a middle-school bus.

I really shouldn't be dwelling sooo much on the negatives (poor salesmanship). But, I do want to be emphatic about my hope/request.

You can simply create your own discord server (or ask for channel in regular server if it's possible) just for conversations similar to this on forum and do not allow offtopic conversations where they do not belong.

In this way, the spirit of the forum would be maintained without the stupid intrusions (on discord) that actually occupy 99% of all conversations and channels.

On the other hand, I notice that that type of server will probably not be overcrowded as one would expect, because actually most of the members of this forum, and especially the other players, do not feel like engaging in serious discussions.

My assumption (my hope) is that Dorado, with their existing Discord expertise and their relationship with the Discord company might be motivated to do that setting-up stuff for their community, to create a result that is well-integrated with the other features CoN's Discord server(?) offers.

Removing login and report won't solve the main precaution. They need to be wiped, there's no other way.

What about setting up a "committee" (including Devs/Mods/trusted community members) to sift through the Forum's threads, and transfer all important, relevant info to a separate platform, like the CoN Wiki, or a Fandom site?

Maybe offering players in-game incentives as a reward for participating would expedite this process.

this should already have been happening as far as I'm concerned, I've personally been frustrated with how out of date the wiki is.

The quote below seems to be implying there is already a "committee" (including Devs/Mods/trusted community members), or maybe someone decided your idea of "free labor" is a viable solution...

i didn't know us average peasants could contribute to the wiki, i did notice i was able to access the login screen but i didn't think to ask if i could get edit access. I guess i assumed it was an employee thing, i guess maybe it's my fault after all if the wiki isn't up to date.

One last thought (which should probably be a separate post) since someone is claiming to be concerned about login info. maybe it would be good to make an official rule that our Forum /Discord /Wiki logins don't match our game login?
This wouldn't necessarily guarantee they don't, but it would help in case of a leak from another platform. Technically a lot of logins probably match other platforms, I'm not sure if that can or should be 100% avoided.
I know there was a field to specifically enter our ingame username, separately from our forum username (the two may or may not match). I'm guessing this other field wasn't what we're referring to as a concern, rather the actual forum un/pw?

i have so many suggestions I'm not sure where to start, maybe I'll make a separate thread (specifically for wiki updates).

I also was about to make a separate thread about the onboarding process for Discord, i don't like it.
I can't use it, MeLarie hasn't responded... (but yak mentioned her for something other than onboarding)

I like how the forum has actual threads per topic,
I do not think Discord is a replacement.

Im referring to the fact that my account ( @maddyarko ) was banned for "posting too many emojis on a message" when I don't even have a clear memory of doing so- nor do I understand if in the case that I *Did* how it would be actually so bad that I don't even get warned. Discord isnt screwing around, I guess.

Sometimes there are mods that abuse their privileges. If you think you’ve been banned unfairly, you should contact an Administrator or email Dorado.
