So here it goes, as we know, when we occupy a country, the war will still not end till every unit of the military of the opponent is destroyed. Now here is my problem with japan, he is hiding submarines in order to prevent me from destroying his army , keep the war status and my morale down. And i cannot track down the submarines due to the large oceans we have in the map. So here is my proposal, once you completely occupy each and every territory of a country, all of their hidden units are revealed for you to hunt down and finally end the war for good. Please developers consider this option because wars with multiple countries lowers down morale and its really annoying for the enemy to just hide his units and keep the war status forever. Fellow CON players, please give thoughts about this solution for this problem that many players face.
A very serious problem

Hi Senancox,
you have a very valid point there - let me discuss it with the team.
Something along the lines of "if AI loses all territories and x days pass AI country surrenders"
//G"Going to war without France is like going hunting without an accordion." Gen. Norman Schwarzkopf -
Potentially also have 'if AI loses all cities & troops AI country surrenders'. There's no point in letting the AI just be there for a day without cities or troops, but with a bunch of territories.

@B17: Will discuss it and add it to the backlog.

We made a backlog story for it and have a good idea how to actually make it work for all countries.
Now we just need to schedule it for dev and testing... so please don't expect soon - more mid-term."Going to war without France is like going hunting without an accordion." Gen. Norman Schwarzkopf -

Awesome. Typically the war status ends when you take the last city/province. All units outside of that though stay at war with you. Last game I liberated Egypt and a week after the war was over as I was preparing to take on the Algerian Collective off the Libyan coast were a stack of 15+ Egyptian attack subs. Even though my 2 destroyers and 2 frigates were maxed out they are now laying with the old French navy.Ain't Nothing But A Thing!

I really think that once all cities have been taken you should be able to negotiate a surrender. If accepted then all remaining units should be transferred to the victors armed forces.
Once all cities have been annexed then it should become a fait a complis, and they transfer automatically, and the occupied provinces become homeland, with resources linked to morale and development. -
Once upon a time, in the early days of Supremacy 1914, the remaining units of a totally defeated country (no provinces, no prduction) would desert (infantry) or remain motionless (mech) due to lack of fuel and food.
Sadly, it appears the easier programming decision is just to allow homeless units to wander aimlessly, or in the case of the never-say-die players, actively exploit this 'feature' by continuing to maneuver units long after their fuel supplies have been exhausted.
The astute reader will realize at this point: there is NO disadvantage to running out of fuel! -
Except that you can't build anything....

i believe buildings take damage if you can not pay the upkeep too.

ACtually from my understanding when you take all the land you are no longer at wwar. If yourun into stray units you can attack but once the land is gone the war is over. If you are still at war go to diplomacy menu and slect taht country and look at their VP I assume they have some island or territory somewhere. But someone please corret me if I am wrong

What I've noticed is that when I defeat a country but they still have stray units is that they disappear from the relations tab completely. I still can get attacked by the strays but my morale is unnafected by them. I guess the simplest way to put it is they are considered pirates. No nation but still dangerous.

Well I just sunk Chilean pirates. I have ships circling South America. We are charging admission for the new Argentine Hunt a Pirate Cruise. Brazilian pirates are elusive. Destroyers in a day will make it to Peru to start the search for the Peruvian pirates. I have a Naval Patrol craft flying around the coast of Brazil plus two invasion fleets left Brazil yesterday from different ports with different routes and none of them saw any pirates on their route.Ain't Nothing But A Thing!

So is it still affecting your morale to be at war with them or did it play out how I said? Also how long ago did you take away their last piece of land?

Yes your diplomacy shows peace BUT the country you defeated is still at war with you as they have stray units.
atwar.png[/attach
Exactly yu are ot at war with them. does not affect your morale. They are at war with you if you encounter their stray units then you deal with them.
-
South America is mine. Not sure if it affecting my morale or not. I am am at war with 2 nations which is true as it states. Angola and South Africa. Angola I need one more territory and they are done.
Brazil was the last I took and it is taking forever for morale to move up for them. Brazil was conquered more than a week ago. War with South Africa was initiated against me last Sunday and Angola is proxy as of Thursday. Morale for Brazil before that was slow as ...
I just want to get rid of them. I had a Chilean transport follow one of my Boomers to the Indian Ocean. I thought it was the South African dude finding my Boomers.Ain't Nothing But A Thing! -
Yeah I've found that strange about AIs. So much so that I made a thread about it called Clairvoyant AIs. I had a different instance for making it but I can't remember it off the top of my head.
