Legacy of 2016

All credit goes to the people that helped put this RP together, including the RPU -- a role-playing union of people, led by The Lightning Turk, that spans from Call of War to Supremacy to New World Empires to Thirty Kingdoms! I would like to thank World War 2 History as he helped with the creation of this RP in the game from Call of War to Conflict of Empires. In addition, I would like to thank the RPU for supporting the creation of this RP into this new game! Without further ado, I would like to introduce the first RPU sponsored RP in Conflict of Nations: Modern War!

With the year of 2016 coming to an end, the question that most of the world has is "What on earth is the future going to be like with the precedent we have set this year?" After all, Donald Trump won an upset election that would bring about uncertainty in the world, the UK passed their Brexit vote, which may suggest the break up of the European Union, and China is currently under the process of island building, which has been said to be a strategic move to gain Naval Superiority in the Western Pacific Ocean.

Amongst the uncertainty, there is one thing though that can be within our control: playing the leader, the people, the economy, and the foreign policy of each other countries listed below!

Basic Knowledge: This RP is going to be played on a 3 days = 1 month basis. Every day is a little over a week. The tech branches is only limited to nuclear capability. In addition, there are two alliances: The Arabian League and The North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Alliances can be created through this RP, as well as destroyed. The European Union will be labeled with a astrice next to it. People can RP if they want to leave it, or revive it, but must do so through the CON News.

The following are the rules of the game:

~World War cannot be waged for 3 months following the creation of the game

~Land-grabbing is greatly frowned upon and not what RPers should feel good about doing

~Post in the CON News section as much as you want (once in 1 or 2 days is average)

~Follow the nuclear rules of the map (That is about it)

~OOC in the newspaper is unneeded and seen as trolling (Anonymous news is not encouraged)

~Size of News Posts has no boundaries, so write as long as you want!

~Trolling the map will result in being kicked from the round

~Premium currency is not encouraged since it is not required to play in this RP

Indeed. I did not see that you guys made an RP over there, but I could tell that after I looked around. The sole purpose of this RP is to go after the politics that have run this year. This RP is certainly a modern RP, but I did not have intentions of shadowing your RP.

At 8:09am, September 2nd, In the grand capital of the Ottoman state, Constantinople, Great Sultan Abdulmecid, Leader of the Ottoman Empire for more than 22 years was reported dead from tuberculosis during his sleep. Millions of Ottoman Peasants from all over the reaches of the Empire have begun mourning for the loss of such a great leader representing the people of his domain.

His body will be placed in a Silver cased coffin and will then be placed on a cart moving around the capital of the Empire, Istanbul.

Abdulmecid I will be forever renowned as the most grand and sublime Ottoman leader thanks ot his policies far exceeding his time even for certain nations of the western world, his military successes and failures will be rewritten within imperial textbooks as a man of many talents, but horrible luck.

Abdulmecid I will be transported to Zincirlikuyu cemetary where his soul will live on for the rest of his days, and to watch over the empire in his passing will be the man whom he had entrusted the military, Abdulaziz I.

Abdulaziz I, a man of western education, having experience in constantly traveling to european nations had prepared for this day since 1850, where his brother was in the front line of the royal succession instead of he.

A shrewd and politically cunning man, who knows if he will lead the Ottoman Empire back to its former glory.

I guess only time will tell.

The Misthaufen Tavern Incident

One evening, the military guard of the Ottoman Imperial embassy were out having a drink at the local beirgarden, and got into a heated argument about the correctness of having military units protect civilians in different countries.

Well due to drinking and fighting having ensued between the pub owner and the Ottoman drunkard soldiers, the 5 soldiers were kicked out.

Walking through the street, they started pulling out their rifles and pointing them in the air in a typical turkish fashion.

hearing the shots being fired, german soldiers came to investigate, and turkish soldiers pointed their rifles at them.

the carnage had one squadron of german and one squadron of Ottoman soldiers dead.

No diplomatic action has been taken by either the German or Ottoman government due to it being "a mechanical error".

Out of Nowhere, Seeing General Eggin Heral declare an independent egypt was quite jarring to say the least, however, then seeing that this general declared war on the recently united Italy brought great entertainment to our fair sultan Abdulaziz I.

You could say, it was similar to viewing two children fight across the street that gave a smile to this old gentleman's face.

As an official Statement by the Ottoman Empire on the recent events, The empire points out that as the Sultanate of Egypt is currently independent of the Ottoman Empire, the Empire has no political interest in the matters of two or three independent nations in conflict with one another.

They can feel free to fight on their own terms and situations, and that the Ottoman Empire does not intend to drag itself into this conflict unless attacked or provoked.

In addition, the recent Ottoman-British Alliance has secured Ottoman relationships with at least one foreign western power. perhaps these infidels are not so bad after all. The Ottoman Government is currently mulling over the lifting of the Great Imperial Embargo, as nothing has actually come from it.

As long as there are Western nations that do not look towards the Empire of the Turks with racism and ignorance, perhaps trade and positive relations can be achieved.

Sub Paragraph: SOUTH CHINA SEA CRISIS

Now, as you all know, the South China Sea has been a hotspot. China is making claims that they shouldn't. And it is just making it worse. As President, we will step in and do something about this. There is no way that China will get out of this mess without giving the rightfull owners their waters. Any violation of the agreement I have planned will result in punishments from the US and SEATO, posibly the UN. Either way, with me as president, I will resolve the resoution.

North Korea

I hope by now, that almost the whole world will realize that N.Korea is a threat. Threats to the USA and S.Korea and other countries involved with the west will not go un-consequenced. There will be consequences for the Nuclear Program and the threats. And, just to send a clear message, ANY ATTACK ON S.KOREA BY N.KOREA OR CHINA, WILL NOT GO UN ATTENDED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On Friday Angela Merkel made an announcement that everyone was expecting, she would indeed seek re-election to the Chancellery. This announcement was highly criticized by the AfD leadership who continuously criticize her open door policy on immigration calling it an act of treason and a betrayal of the German nation. The likelihood of Angela Merkel being re-elected is high although it is expected that the alt right will gain seats in the national parliament which would be seen as a defeat for the conservative and more liberal parties in Germany and could give enough momentum to the AfD to truly become a political power within Germany. Only time will tell if the nationalistic and anti immigration AfD will amount to anything before it inevitably steps across the line and finds itself under scrutiny by the high courts over its appeal to right wing fanatics and white supremacists.
