" Frigates will be nerfed soon" -Germanico

I hope this isn't the case and am writing this with the assumption it hasn't already taken place.

Frigates ARE powerful AA on the sea 8 power at lvl 1, maxing out at 12, but in my eyes they're filling the role of the Sea-Whi z (CIWS) This weapon system is employed with almost every US ship and is accurate enough to blow up a bird (which happens more often than you'd guess) If the frigate is nerfed it will essentially make it mandatory that a sea stack have a carrier and large superiority fighter escort. (Navy superiority and even SF are extremely research intensive and therefore expensive to have in large quantities)

The CIWS essentially creates an "impenetrable" bubble around a ship and it would take a heck of a lot of missiles coming in to overwhelm the cover a CIWS can lay down. Primarily used on carriers as a last resort if the jets can't do an intercept and divert or eliminate the threat, but we now see them on cruisers, amphibs, and other vessels. If the Frigate is nerfed and the AA envelope seal is broken on sea stacks, air/CM's will be especially OP vs ships. Especially considering the lack of upgrades for sea based aircraft. Looking at the tech tree you are upgrading the land based aircraft 3 times while the carrier jet sees none of that enhancement and is still sitting at level 1 until day 14. IMHO the land air tree needs to ALSO give the stat benefits to the sea tree simultaneously (or even give them better stats) so sea can keep up with land aircraft. (remember you still have to research and mobilize a carrier vs a lvl 1 AB) Take Australia as an example, IMO land based aircraft are useless, your primary goal should be a carrier and it's air. Spending research upgrades on stuff you're literally not using to get your next carrier based jet is kind of a B*. I feel that if the Frigate loses the anti-nerf fight a CWIS upgrade needs to be added to vessel's tech trees specifically with missile def in mind.

Aside from these points Frigates still have sea and even land based vulnerabilities as balance (subs, ships, artillery) and they're taking up slots in a stack, which starts to decrease in effectiveness after 5. So the optimal stack in my mind is 2 Frigates and 3 whatever. So if anything leave the AA and take away from the Frigates ship to ship/ ship to shore combat.

I hope others find my argument for the Frigate insightful. Hope we can engage in some discussion about the ship.
