      Hey guys,

Hope you are all having a nice beginning to the year :)

I am curious if our players have any stories you want to share.
Given the nature of our game, a lot of interesting interactions happen between players and things don't always go as expected. Are there any stories you have playing the game which stuck with you?

    • There is a game I am currently playing with my friends, a 4x speed map. (quick side note the game does have anti cheat off and a passcode, and do not endorse actions of my friends) During the game I was america, and as any good america should, created the coalition of NATO. soon Canada, UK, Israel, and spain had joined. At this point Canada told me that they were just going to focus on air and use me as their army. Spain proceed to immediately go inactive. And Uk and israel just did things. In the other part of the world, a new power arose. The Dominos pizza Ethiopia staged a coup and took complete control of the Nation of ethiopia and established the Dominos pizza coalition, its power soon spread with the additions of Dominos South africa, Argentina, and Australia. It wasn't long before a cold war scenario broke out between NATO and Dominos. But it didn't stop there. Mexico (who was begging to join NATO but we were full) decided to create a puppet government in Russia. NATO wouldn't stand for this, and soon a full invasion of Russia was underway. Thats when things in africa went bad. The Canadian puppet country the Papa John Republic of the congo soon started to collapse after a short accidental war with ethiopia, and soon 3 terrorist cities rose up. NATO waged the cost of counter terrorist operations, but had to keep our armies to fight russia. Within 2 days the terrorists spread to Cameroon, Zambia, south Sudan, and parts of angola. At that point NATO recommended all African nations to evacuate and we deemed africa as lost. Ethiopia was the only one not to comply and tried to take on the terrorists head on. Within a couple days the terrorists had appeared in south Africa and started a two front war against Namibia, Angola, and Mozambique. The war was a losing one, and within a matter of days all of central and south africa had fallen to the terrorists. Ethiopia had only just now started to enter the Former DR Congo, (and find its leader Bagwandi). NATO has kicked Spain and invaded it. Soon after Ethiopia started pushing the terrorists back, and as their casualty count approached 100,000, and endured many of our jokes of how they should have left, they had them pushed down to south africa. We decided to let them join NATO in exchange for the US reopening Dominos pizza (It was closed after the mass salmonella incident). Then christmas break came, and the ai did what it did best, undoing all of our hard work, and now we are back to the start with the terrorist. The game is still going on, but is full of funny moments for our friends, with more sure to come.

    • this is a short story but im playing on a map (year 202) and just to show how us humans came become over power by greed, power, war, money. so the players on the map aren't even wasn't to deal with the rouges and just leave them and they are now on the seventh place on the chart. will me U.K. am on three and Finland on first and Vietnam on second. so i attacked Germany and he had O.P. troops like modern infantry but the thing is you have to have strategy which he didn't and this one time he lost 26,000 troops while i lost 6,000 troops. i used helis, artillery and striker air craft while he had nothing.

if a man has a gun and you a knife what's the point of using it if he doesn't know how to shoot it, its like telling a baby to build a ship. -wotlol

    • Once i played as NK and one of my in-game friends played as SK. It was pretty epic. Firstly we made China surrender after a futile attempt to invade us both. Then we cut the tail of the monster (Russia) by getting Vladivostok and numerous other Russian territory. And when SK became inactive me and Japan shared him out. I was on 68 vp. That doesn't sound that good but that's doubling of the score I had in the beginning. However then Phillipines came and invaded me..

      Then it went downhill..
      Famous quotes from me:
      "Just my important opinion"
"The best player is the player who is patient, who is clever and who is ruthless."
"I'm really great at diplomacy, terrible at strategy ;) "
    • I learned the hard way about not trusting your allies. I was allies with Germany and France (I was Yugoslavia). We were cruising along Europe wiping everyone up, then I noticed that the two other countries were basing troops in my territory. Turns out they were working together and simultaneously declared war on me from within my own country. I was too far spread throughout the world and got wiped out. Never again.

We have discussed some precautions to this for the future, for the time being you will have to keep your wits about who you ally with.

Same happened to me when I was USA. I had just lost all units on some expedition in Africa then I got finished off easily. Life lesson.
The moral of the story? Imperialism doesn't pay :P

At least, not without a few naval fleets to guard your coast and escort/cover your troops.
Aircraft help too. Aircraft carriers with strike jets are an insanely awesome force multiplier. Or air sup jets to deny your enemy the ability to conduct air strikes.
    • So, this story is an epic one of love, friendship how I came to love blitzkrieg.

I was playing as Germany back when I was starting to build up skill (I usually played island nations, as they have a natural barrier) and I managed to rally several key allies to a coalition: Poland, UK, Italy and Spain.

Poland was by far my best ally, he was always vocal and discussed ideas: me and him cleansed Eastern Europe of those who like pineapple on pizza.

The UK was a constant wild card: he spent thirty days sending three different BEFs to Africa, only to have them all retreat out. Spain fell to the US, but by this stage i'd already invaded france and then attacked the US help Europe (i also put subs in his ports, so like sea mines, when something touched them: BANG) Poland managed to curb an Active Russia, while my Northern forces took the Vikings on. Italy was busy in Africa, and was actually really polite and would often tell us before hand that he couldn't always be on, but his air support was vital in our wars.

This game took place when the Annex update dropped, so the game play was a great pace and many people stayed active to see the changes: we even destroyed several nukes and had a game wide UN (which the so called 'African Kingdom ' Coalition later got sanctioned by, and ended up speaking Japanese)

Over all, it was great. When people lost, they say GG and no one posted trash talk in the Newspaper. Sadly, games like this are rare, but it proves that our community can be incredible.
