      + + + + DEV DIARY: ENTRY 12 + + + +

While mobile development is well underway, it's time for another entry into our WIP log! Today's Dev Diary gives you a brief glimpse into what else we have in store for CON over the coming months, as well as insights into the current state of the game.

With tomorrow's content update, CON is about to hit its 40th major iteration - the result of meticulous refinement that would not have been possible without the continuous feedback and staunch support from the community. As the CON family continues to grow, system stability is at the top of our priority list, in tandem with all the other exciting features that are going to follow. Since the beginning of the year our developers have made great strides in fixing bugs and boosting overall game performance, an effort that is especially important in preparation for CON Mobile and the current game experience. And there's still more to come. Ensuring growth and stability also means that you will see less jam-packed releases. Instead, we will be pushing smaller, spaced out updates with significantly less risk of disrupting running games.

So what else is coming? Well, a lot. But for now here is one feature in particular:

      Seasonal Leaderboards
In addition to your individual rank, your daily game activity will also count towards a Seasonal Rank. This rank will reset every Season (2-3 months) and open up the opportunity to climb to the top of the leaderboards to old and new players alike. Each Season will have its own dedicated leaderboard, which means your hard-earned placements will forever enter the halls of fame. Reaching a minimum Seasonal Score will permanently unlock something really cool - something that you can only unlock during that Season. What is it? Perhaps you can guess, but more about that in another Dev Diary (can't spoil everything so early can I?). Finally, alliances will also receive a Season Score, which will be the culmination of their members' efforts in public games.

Mind you these are still early days, so don't expect anything too soon. Stay tuned for more updates, and in the meantime good luck with your current war efforts!

Please remember that everything shared in the Dev Diary is WIP and always subject to change

Also, the timer clearly STAYS ON 13 SECONDS.

Joke apart, this is a GREAT idea. It's of course spawns several questions/interests/ideas :

      - For the alliances, amazingly, it provides some kind of analytics about our points growth lol. Could it be possible, for alliances, to imagine that you would show (for example on the member list) the individual points they earned for the current season ? It would be an amazing incentive tool both to encourage playing, and to encourage us to administrate
      - As you know, we are numerous to dread the current elo system. If you manage to create seasons, maybe it would be interesting and incentive to provide an sub-ladder with Wins-Loss (even without elo) "for the current season" ? To add a bit more on the idea, maybe (regular) challenges could provide bonus points to the alliance

      - Will seasonal reward be separated between alliances and singleplayer ? (aka "will players be encouraged to join alliance in order to have more goodies" ? )
      - Will alliance unlocks be a "shared treasure", meaning that alliances can present as an "bonus" that they have "such rewards" accumulated from seasons, (and do the player lose them if they quit the alliance), or do they unlock only what they "participated" for ?

Running an online alliance is pretty much like running a small company, except you need to find other way than money to keep your employees productive. May they play or work, they are humans.
