Yep, I just did that with an infantry unit in my Syria FP. Safer there due to the lack of threat. In order to artificially reduce the risk of unit loss exponentially relative to enemy ship combat capability, you can send out your own naval force to the side of the healing unit opposite the coast, thereby forming a protective pocket to prevent enemy action against them. This can also be done to a less absolute effect with aerial and artillery patrol picket missions.Buckeyechamp wrote:
And if you feel lucky or at least in safe area can take land units and park in atransport and heal faster. Take a 45 HP tank .. if knocked down to 20 hp would take 20 days to heal in a city without a Hosp. but put on a transport ... will get about 5 / 12 HP and that will heal 2 HP per day in water. So in about 3.5 days can recharge that tank instead of 20 days. but only takes 1 stray corvette to wreck that theorey.Stratieon wrote:

Real quick note for those who may get confused. While USUALLY it is true that lighter-colored waters are coastal waters, that's not ALWAYS true. For a more accurate indicator when looking for a future coastal waters destination, look for the coast waters indicator. You have to look closely at the map to see them sometimes, but they are there. The MOST sure you can be is to move your ship to the destination you want and then click on the ship to see if it says that it is sitting in coastal waters or high seas. I've been in one zone and thought it was the other before.Stratieon wrote:

Also a good time to mention as a reminder for our newer folks that traditional submarines (not the special seasonal ones; they're opposite) are 50% less effective in coastal waters and corvettes are 50% less effective in high seas.
