I find the game is much more satisfying when there's 0 golders on a map.
Golders ruin the momentum of a round and can make wars very unfair.

Agree but I can't understand why people speak so much about gold.As per my experince most of the games here are gold free and out of 5/6 games only 1 contain a gold spammer which you can figure out early and do friendship with him or quit.Gen. Grievous wrote:

I brought some gold and only use it to counter BS.
So examples:
If a game mechanic has screwed me over somehow - such as my chemical cruise missiles killing my own stealth bombers... nah dumb, they're high in the sky
To counter gold spammer antics, such as a guy once golded an ICBM, so I spawned a TDS to counter it.
If I had to break away from the game for 2-3 days, so I use a little of gold to 'make-up' for lost progress.
To counter a golder I'm at war with - I will use gold in crucial moments if I know the other guy has buffed himself with gold.
So mostly, I use gold to counter gold. I use it rarely, and if I do, in small amounts, only enough to counter the BS.
