how will the units move ?

This question has been coming to my mind from some days . So I decide to ask it on forum .

I have an infantry unit in City A and I order them to move to City C . In their route to city C , they have to pass through Province B . The city C has an airbase but City A does not so , the units go from land . But in Province B , there is an air field under construction . The air field gets completed before the unit has reached Province B .

Now , will that unit use the airfield and go to City C from air or will it continue going from land ?

It will continue the same route until a new order is given so it will recalculate the fastest path.

It will not *automatically* use *new* fastest route so yes.

you have to grab the unit, cancel orders to be safe and re-order it to go to City C. It will recalculate and go the fastest route. However, you need to factor in the boarding/disembarking timeframe. Its possible its still faster to take the land route. There is no way to force a unit to use air transport. I've tried when I know the land route isn't safe; due to artillery or air strike and they won't do it if its technically faster.

Actually you can, use the way point order.

I've used that to force the air transport; but if the travel time is too close to outwiegh the board/disembark time then it still doesn't work , in my experience. the only time is when I'm trying to get re-inforcements across an enemy line that blitzed through two cities. The troops wouldn't take the air transport because they could go through the enemy territory faster; but I knew the opponent had troops there.
